It's been said that Paul Scholes will only ever play for Manchester United, or his boyhood club, Oldham Athletic. Scholes said a couple of years ago, "As for Oldham, you just don't know what will happen in the future... I suppose it could happen, you never really know."

Rumor has it, Dimitar Berbatov grew up worshiping Alan Shearer and used to wear a Newcastle shirt all the time, even sleeping in it.

Carlos Tevez was quoted in late 2007, "At 28, I want to be in Boca," said Tevez in The Sun. "I have another year on my contract with Manchester and I could extend it for four years more then return. But I want to return to Boca at my peak not as some fatso."
