  1. I'm surprised that AS Monaco is that small. Is this a different club than the one where Freddy is (not) playing?

  2. That is the Freddy Adu Monaco. AS Monaco's stadium has a capacity of 18,500 but in recent seasons it is only half full most of the time.

This season has been even worse for Monaco attendance-wise. They are only averaging 8,567 per game so far.

  4. I think it's just unfortunate that Freddy Adu is at Monaco at a bad time. As recently as a few years ago, Monaco was in the Champions League final and launching careers of players like Henry, Adebayor, Trezeguet, Morientes, Giuly, etc. not to mention manager Arsene Wenger.

Without any inside knowledge of the situation, it seems like the manager, Ricardo Gomes, doesn't think Adu's style fits with the team, which asks the question, why is he there on loan in the first place?

The only reason I can think of is this:

  5. For Gods sake. Monaco has a population of 32000. "Man, we have USL clubs topping those numbers easy." Averege attendance of +9000 in cites with 32000 inhabitants?
