I'm sure I'm not alone in noticing that a lot of the goals in US Soccer's current Bob Bradley era have come from defenders and set pieces (including Los scoring a big one in WCQ). I thought I'd break down who is scoring the goals over the last two years by position. For the interchangeable position players Donovan (MF) and Dempsey (FW) I used their listed position at the US Soccer website.
34 goals by Forwards and Midfielders
12 goals by Defenders
=
Basically 1 in 4 goals (%26) have come from defenders.
