what do you mean by "seeded"? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delayed response, I've been away the past week with no internet connection.
DeleteWorld Cup Seeded teams are placed in Pot 1 when the draw is made. It seems like they change the formula for every World Cup but generally it tries to make sure the best teams are 'seeded' so that they don't face each other early in the competition.
In 2014, Brazil and the top 7 in the October FIFA rankings are the seeded teams in Pot 1. Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, and Switzerland are definitely seeded for 2014. If Uruguay win their intercontinental playoff with Jordan they will also be seeded. If Jordan win that playoff, the Netherlands will be the final seeded team.
