  1. Any chance the attendance in both Italy and France were indictments of their national teams leading up to the World cup, and thus flimsily predictive of performance?

    I concede that Spanish attendance also seems somewhat low, especially up against German and English numbers.

  2. what this table doesn't compare though is the capacity of the stadiums. surely that has an effect on percentages?

  3. It does take into account stadium capacities, that's why it is a percentage. If it didn't, it'd just be a list of large attendances in Europe.
