South Europe Regional National Team

What if Europe divided into Regional National Teams? Here is TB11's South Europe NT.



Rules for squad selection:

20 Players - 3 GK, 6 DF, 6 MF, 5 FW

Maximum of 4 players from a single country
Minimum of 1 player from every nation in the region must be included


South: Cyprus, Israel, Italy, Greece, Malta, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Turkey

  1. This has got to be the strongest of the regions to date. I went a pretty similar route with the midfield, but prefer Pirlo to DDR and Sahin to Turan. Also had to throw in Toto Di Natale up front considering how amazing he's been at club level the last few seasons.

    Should be enough of the very top players to play an 11 of them only in a few different systems. Busquets and Iniesta are versatile as well and can play in a few positions, which helps if this team should say.. play in a regions tournament with the other teams :)

    I'm surprised no one put down Bolat or Soldado, both have been really outstanding players for the last couple of seasons. Soldado is overdue for a Spain call-up.
