The new Castrol Rankings were released today and these are the top 5 Premiership players from each FIFA confederation. Remember that these rankings take into account the previous 12 months. For that reason, a couple of players who haven't played much this season still make these lists while a few players who are likely more deserving (based on recent form) are left off.

ReplyDeleteThanks Jeff, all better now.
ReplyDeleteAgreed on the English players comment.
% of domestic-based players in top 20 by league
60% Italy/Spain
45% France
30% Germany
10% England
I never really understood the Castrol Rankings anyways. According to them Gekas is better than Xabi Alonso. Seems a bit too arbitrary to be taken too seriously.
ReplyDeletestuart holden needs to be on that concacaf list. i know he has only really started to establish himself this season (i don't know when these lists were made) but holden has been amazing this year and is only getting better. soon enough, he will be a mainstay at a top club
